Salons in Business Bay Dubai: 11 Compared, 3 Take Walk-Ins

It’s Beauty Woman Salon in Iris Bay Tower is the only salon in Business Bay that publishes all four of the facts you need before you leave the office — a unit number, a price, seven-day hours and a walk-in policy. Artistic Trendz in Bay Square, SKILLS by Barber Mo in Clover Bay Tower and The Cool Crop Barbershop on Marasi Drive publish three of the four. Eleven salons were compared on 8 November 2026 against their own websites, and on the register Dubai Municipality publishes and no longer serves. Between them they publish 25 facts out of 44; only three say whether you can walk in.

Which Business Bay salons publish the most about themselves?

It’s Beauty Woman Salon in Iris Bay Tower is the only salon in Business Bay that publishes all four facts you need before leaving the office: a unit number, a price, seven-day hours and a walk-in policy. Artistic Trendz in Bay Square, SKILLS by Barber Mo in Clover Bay Tower and The Cool Crop Barbershop on Marasi Drive publish three of the four. Eleven Business Bay salons with a working website of their own were compared on 8 November 2026, against what the operators publish and nothing else.

Between them they publish 25 of a possible 44 facts: seven a price, ten seven-day hours, five a unit number. Three say whether they take walk-ins — the fact that decides whether a haircut fits in a lunch break.

How did we rank these eleven salons?

On one thing: how many of four checkable facts the operator publishes on its own site, read on 8 November 2026. An address with a unit, floor or shop number. A price for a named service. Hours covering seven days. A walk-in policy either way — “welcome” and “appointment only” both count, because both let you plan. One point each; ties broken alphabetically, and we say so.

Three criteria this series normally uses were dropped. No Google rating: we have no access to Maps, and an unverified rating is a number we will not stand behind. No walking times in minutes: that needs pedestrian routing we do not have. And a distance band cannot be finer than the address published — three name Marasi Drive, one Bay Square, seven a tower and stop.

A disclosure, before the ranking. Oh My Desk runs a floor on Bay Square, Business Bay (that’s us), so this district is our own. We are not in the salon business and do not appear in the ranking: there is nothing here for us to win. We are only the starting point for the distances (that’s us) — and every row can be checked against the salon’s own site in a minute.

Nothing here is inspected in person. It is compared, on what each operator and Dubai Municipality publish. Booking-platform prices were not used: an aggregator’s figure belongs to the platform, and in one case below the two disagree by nearly a quarter. This series has already compared the district’s gyms, schools, nurseries, beaches and neighbourhoods; not one of their prices, fees, ages or names is repeated here.

What is Dubai Municipality’s “Ideal Salon” list?

Dubai Municipality grades every salon it inspects, in its own words, “starting from higher A to F the lowest” — six grades. Holders of the top grade may apply for a voluntary status called Ideal Salon, defined by its Health & Safety Department as a “Salon, which achieve higher level of compliance, and exceed the requirements in certain measured criteria” (reference DM-HSD-GU75-IS2, v2.1, 28 December 2020, covering “gents, ladies and kids salons”).

What makes it unusual is that the status is then sorted into airline classes. The guideline counts five “added values”, measured “to determine its class in the range of economy, business and first class”, and publishes the arithmetic:

ClassAdded values requiredOut ofPrerequisite
Economy class1 to 25inspection grade A
Business class3 to 45inspection grade A
First class55inspection grade A

So First Class means a perfect score, not a tier you buy into. Nine criteria in all, one marked mandatory: “Availability of salon management system, including consultation services”. And it is revocable in a line — “all privileges of ideal nomination considered canceled whenever salon routine inspection resulted with any violations”.

It is also, explicitly, not a licence to charge more. Presenting the scheme in 2022, the department’s director, Dr Naseem Mohammed Rafee, told Gulf News that “receiving it is not a license to increase the charges at salons”, and that “only those businesses who have received the top grade, A, in our inspections can apply”. Forty-eight salons had been certified.

Why does an “OPEN DATA” register of thirteen salons no longer open?

It also publishes the list of who is on it, stamped OPEN DATA in its own footer. The gents list is referenced DM-HSD-L4-IGS, version 3, issued 29 April 2021: six pages, sorted into the three classes, naming thirteen salons for the whole of Dubai — five First Class, six Business, two Economy.

Exactly one of the thirteen is in Business Bay: SKILLS STYLE GENTS SALON L.L.C, evaluated 30 November 2020, First Class. The other twelve sit in Umm Suqeim, Al Tawar, Al Thanyah, Al Wasl, Port Saeed, Jumeirah, Al Karama and Nad Al Sheba.

Three things about it. It was issued 2,019 days ago. The version that replaced it will not open — see the table. And it contradicts itself: its contents page and section heading read Economy Class, while both rows printed underneath are labelled Business Class.

The gap matters. Gulf News reported 48 certified salons; the readable gents register accounts for 13, and the other 35 would sit in the ladies’ list — the file that refuses to be read. The same article described the airline classes as planned “in the next stage”, in November 2022 — eighteen months after the register had been published sorted into them.

A newer chapter is a month old. On 9 October 2026 the municipality announced a Model Salon status on three pillars — service quality, a safe and healthy environment, sustainability — on the same “A” prerequisite. Thirty days on, the public list is still April 2021’s. None of the eleven below claims Ideal Salon status; one claims a grade in words the municipality does not use.

What does each of the eleven publish?

In rank order, alphabetically inside each tier.

1. It’s Beauty Woman Salon — 4 of 4

Iris Bay Tower, 14th floor, office 1405. “An exclusively women’s salon”, and the only one publishing a unit, a price, day-by-day hours and a walk-in policy. Monday to Sunday 10:00 to 22:00. Cheapest named service: a fringe cut at AED 80, blow-dry from 190. “Walk-ins are always welcome!” — on the homepage, though not on its own branch page.

2. Artistic Trendz Hair & Beauty Salon — 3 of 4

Ground floor, Shop 5, Building BB08, Bay Square — the only address naming both a building and a unit, and the same square as our own floor (that’s us). Ladies-only. Prices sit on the service sub-pages, not the homepage: classic manicure AED 80, blow-dry 100, cut and style from 180, inclusive of VAT. Daily 10:00 to 19:00, the earliest close here.

3. SKILLS by Barber Mo — 3 of 4

Office 1504, Clover Bay Tower, Marasi Drive — a fifteenth-floor office, not a shopfront, worth knowing before you turn up. Three tiers, Standard, Senior and Master, with no price on any. Daily 11:00 to 21:00, the latest opening here. Its walk-in policy is published and restrictive: a “controlled appointment and concierge communication process”, walk-ins that “may be limited”. It is the only operator claiming a municipality grade, which it calls “A-Class Gold” — a phrase absent from the municipality’s own vocabulary.

4. The Cool Crop Barbershop — 3 of 4

13 Marasi Drive, opposite Bay Square — the nearest of the eleven to our own door (that’s us), and the only one giving a street number rather than a tower, though no shop number. Every day 10:00 to 21:00. A classic haircut at AED 110, skin fade 130, kids’ cut 80. “Walk-ins welcome based on availability.”

5. Beige Beauty Salon — 2 of 4

Ubora Residence Tower, no unit. A full price page, and the only operator here whose published week is not uniform: Monday to Saturday 10:00–21:00, Sunday 12:00–20:00. Blow-dry from AED 180, cut and styling from 250. No walk-in policy. It also advertises microblading, covered below.

6. Eline Beauty Salon — 2 of 4

The address is the problem: its header gives Bay Avenue, its contact section Executive Tower B, Bay Avenue Mall. Both are Business Bay, neither carries a unit, and they are not the same line. A published list — hair wash AED 75, fringe cut 80, trim 150 — and Monday to Sunday 10:00 to 22:00. No walk-in policy.

7. L’art Salon — 2 of 4

AG Tower, no unit. Monday to Sunday 10:00 to 23:00, the latest close here. Haircut trimming AED 150, transformation cut 300, Russian manicure from 150 — stated as excluding VAT, the opposite convention to Artistic Trendz three streets away. It calls itself ladies-only in the footer while advertising male stylists. No walk-in policy.

8. Miled Andos Beauty Salon — 2 of 4

The Prism Tower, ground floor, store G04. Monday to Sunday 10:00 to 20:00, day by day. What is missing is a standard price: no cut, no blow-dry, no manicure, only packages from AED 700. A salon that prices the big job and hides the small one is a salon you telephone.

9. Tiger Gents Salon — 2 of 4

Lake Central Tower, Marasi Drive, no unit. The widest window here: Monday to Sunday 09:00 to midnight, and the only nine o’clock opening in the set. It publishes prices but no standalone haircut — its cheapest line with a cut is a haircut and beard shave at AED 180 — and sends the menu to a platform.

10. Fresh & Fab Hair Salon — 1 of 4

Shop 3, lower ground floor, Al Shafar Residential Tower — a precise address, and then nothing else holds. Its price-list link is broken, and its hours contradict themselves on one page: the body says 10am to 10pm seven days, the header says 24/7. One point, for the address.

11. SALAZA Gibran Khabbaz — 1 of 4

Tiara Towers, no unit. Daily 10:00 to 22:00, and that is all: no price, no walk-in policy, no statement of who the salon is for. One point, for the hours.

Bay Square in Business Bay, Dubai, annotated with the three levels of address the eleven salons in this guide publish: a building and unit, a street name, or a tower name alone

How many of the eleven publish a price, and does it include VAT?

Seven. Only three of them price the single service most people want — a haircut.

Two of the seven say whether VAT is in the figure, and they say opposite things: Artistic Trendz prints that its prices include 5% VAT, L’art Salon that its prices exclude it. The other five are silent, which on an AED 180 blow-dry leaves nine dirhams unanswered. And read the operator, not the platform: The Cool Crop publishes a classic haircut at AED 110 and a 21:00 close, while the platform taking its bookings lists AED 85 and a 23:00 close — a 23% gap and two hours, same shop, same afternoon. Neither is wrong; they are two publishers. This guide quotes the operator.

Why does nothing in Business Bay open before 9am?

Because salons are not built around the working day, and the published hours say so. Not one of the eleven opens at eight.

OpensSalonsLatest close published

The closing end is generous, so the window for anyone on office hours is the evening or a long lunch — never the hour before work. Our own building does the opposite: member access runs 24 hours a day, seven days a week, the staffed reception Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm (that’s us). Ten of the eleven publish identical hours all seven days; only Beige publishes a different Sunday.

How many salons take walk-ins?

Three of eleven. The Cool Crop (“walk-ins welcome based on availability”), It’s Beauty (“always welcome”) and SKILLS, which publishes the opposite: a controlled appointment process, walk-ins that “may be limited”. The other eight push a WhatsApp number and never say whether turning up works.

That is the widest information gap in the district, and the one that costs an hour. A price you can ask for in one message; hours you can read. Whether a chair is free at 1pm, you cannot.

Which Business Bay salons are named here but not ranked?

Nine, each for a stated reason. Two are the most interesting: they publish more than anyone in the ranking, and nothing outside their own sites records them at the address they give.

NamedPublished addressWhy it is not ranked
Pro Look Gents SalonDAMAC Zada Tower, shop 3Publishes all four facts and a sixty-line price list — and no directory, listing or review anywhere records a salon at that address. Domain ten months old. Question left open.
Gold Level Gent Salon & SpaClover Bay Tower, Marasi DriveFull menu and a 09:00–01:00 day published; no independent listing found. Same reason.

5 Degrees Gents SalonDAMAC The Voleo TowerNo website of its own.
Scissors & Razors Gents SalondisputedTwo directories place it in two different districts, and nothing published by the operator settles it.
SKILLS STYLE GENTS SALON L.L.CBusiness Bay (per the register)The one Business Bay entry on Dubai Municipality’s Ideal Salon list — and the two telephone numbers printed beside it match none of the eleven. We do not assert it is any of them.

What does a haircut cost next to a day at a desk?

Ten dirhams apart. The classic haircut published by the barbershop opposite Bay Square is AED 110; a day pass at Oh My Desk is AED 120 (that’s us). Ours is before VAT, added at checkout; theirs does not say.

The useful arithmetic is the time, not the money. With three salons in eleven publishing a walk-in policy, the plan is to message and keep working until the answer comes — which only works if the desk is in the same square. Coworking at Oh My Desk is AED 950 a month, a day pass AED 120, both before VAT, with one hour of meeting room a month on a hot desk (that’s us); the full price comparison and the Business Bay floor are elsewhere.

What does a salon licence actually allow?

Less than some of these menus suggest. A municipality salon permit covers hair, nails, waxing and beauty treatment; procedures that break the skin or act on it medically sit under the Dubai Health Authority instead.

Two of the eleven advertise services on that edge: Beige (microblading, microshading, lip blush, microneedling) and Eline (permanent eyebrow microblading); a third, Belle Femme, is named above but unranked. Artistic Trendz prints that its mesotherapy is needle-free. None publishes which authority licenses which service — a fair question at the counter.

One trap for anyone reading these menus quickly: botox and filler appear on two of the eleven and are injectables in neither case — they are hair treatments. Read the service, not the word.

FAQ: 10 quick answers

1. How many salons are there in Business Bay, Dubai? Far more than eleven: directories list roughly forty-five in and around the district. Eleven is the number running a working website of their own with something checkable on it. The rest exist only as a directory entry, so nothing about them is verifiable.

2. Which Business Bay salon publishes the most about itself? It’s Beauty Woman Salon, in Iris Bay Tower, is the only one of the eleven publishing all four facts — a unit number (office 1405, 14th floor), a price, seven-day hours of 10:00 to 22:00, and a walk-in policy. Three others publish three of the four.

3. Do salons in Business Bay take walk-ins? Three of the eleven say anything at all. The Cool Crop takes them “based on availability”, It’s Beauty says they are “always welcome”, SKILLS the opposite: walk-ins “may be limited”. The other eight publish a booking link and never answer.

4. What time do Business Bay salons open and close? Nine of the eleven open at 10:00, one at 09:00 (Tiger Gents Salon) and one at 11:00 (SKILLS). None opens at eight. Closing runs from 19:00 at Artistic Trendz to midnight at Tiger, so the practical window on office hours is the evening or a long lunch.

5. How much is a haircut in Business Bay? The cheapest classic haircut published by an operator itself is AED 110, at The Cool Crop on Marasi Drive; Tiger’s cheapest line with a cut is AED 180. Seven of the eleven publish a price of some kind, and the cheapest named service of all is a hair wash at AED 75.

6. Where is there a nail salon in Business Bay? Artistic Trendz, Bay Square, publishes a classic manicure at AED 80 — the only item actually called that in the set. L’art publishes a Russian manicure from AED 150, Beige a gel or Russian at AED 180. Elsewhere, manicure prices are not published.

7. Which Business Bay barbershops publish their prices? Two of the three with a site of their own. The Cool Crop publishes a short menu from AED 70 for a beard trim; Tiger publishes packages but no standalone haircut; SKILLS publishes three tiers and no amount against any.

8. What is a Dubai Municipality “Ideal Salon”? A voluntary status for salons already holding the top inspection grade. The municipality grades from A to F; holders of an A may apply, and the guideline sorts them into Economy, Business or First class by how many of five “added values” they meet.

9. Is any Business Bay salon on the Ideal Salon list? One entry is recorded at Business Bay: SKILLS STYLE GENTS SALON L.L.C, evaluated 30 November 2020, First Class. The two telephone numbers printed beside it match none of the eleven compared here, and the register has not been reissued readably since 2021.

10. Do salon prices in Dubai include VAT? Only two of the seven that publish a price say, and they say opposite things: Artistic Trendz prints that its prices include 5% VAT, L’art that they exclude it. The other five are silent, which on an AED 180 blow-dry leaves nine dirhams unanswered.

The bottom line

Business Bay has around forty-five salons and eleven that will tell you anything. Those eleven publish 25 facts out of 44, and the one they withhold most often — eight times out of eleven — is the only one you cannot discover from a desk: whether you can simply walk in.

The regulator does better and worse at once: it grades every salon, publishes an accreditation with a published formula, stamps the register OPEN DATA — then serves its homepage where the current register should be. A month ago it announced a new status on the same grade. The list of who holds the old one is five and a half years old.

Our own floor sits in the middle of it, on Bay Square (that’s us), which is why the distances here are measured from there; the Downtown floor is the other side of the same question. If you want a desk where the haircut is a walk rather than a drive, ask the team — they reply within two working hours.

A question about your situation?

The team replies within 2 working hours, in English, French or Arabic — about Ejari, trade licences, or the right type of office.
