Which Downtown Dubai brunches run on which day?
Thiptara and Ewaan at Palace Downtown, Les Cuisines at Sofitel Dubai Downtown and Ciao Saturday at Cetara, Address Downtown, all run on Saturday. So does the Skyline Brunch at CÉ LA VI, on the 54th floor of Address Sky View. The sixth is the odd one out: CÉ LA VI’s Club Lounge publishes a Thursday Night Brunch, and Thursday is a working day.
That is the whole set we could verify against the operators’ own pages on 1 November 2026: five Saturdays, one Thursday, not a single Friday — in the city that invented the Friday brunch.

| # | Brunch | Hotel | Day published | Time published | Price published |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Thiptara | Palace Downtown | Saturday | 12.30pm – 3.30pm | no |
| 2 | Les Elements Brunch, Les Cuisines | Sofitel Dubai Downtown | Saturday | 1pm – 4pm | yes — AED 250 / 350 |
| 3 | Saturday Brunch, Ewaan | Palace Downtown | Saturday | 1.00pm – 4.00pm | no |
| 4 | Ciao Saturday, Cetara | Address Downtown | Saturday | 1.00pm – 3.00pm, then 6.00pm – 11.00pm | no |
| 5 | Skyline Brunch, CÉ LA VI | Address Sky View | Saturday | not published | no |
| 6 | Thursday Night Brunch, CÉ LA VI Club Lounge | Address Sky View | Thursday | not published | no |
Read on each operator’s own pages, 1 November 2026. Entries 5 and 6 are at the same address, in two different rooms, on two different days: the ranking counts brunches, not buildings.
How did we rank these six brunches?
On one criterion: the day of the week the operator publishes. Since 1 January 2022 the UAE federal government has worked Monday to Thursday and Friday morning, with Saturday and Sunday as the official weekend. A Saturday brunch costs you nothing you were going to work anyway; a Thursday one costs an afternoon. So Saturdays rank first, Thursday last, and inside the Saturdays we sort on the earliest published start — with two declared tie-breaks: publishing a price ranks you above not publishing one, and a time on the restaurant’s own page ranks above the same time on a group offers page.
Three things in this series’ usual method are missing, and the reason is worth writing down. No Google rating or review count: reading them needs an access to Maps we do not have, so the line is dropped rather than guessed. No walking times in minutes: that needs a routing engine, and we would be inventing the number. And no fine distance band, because it cannot be finer than what the venues publish — only one of the six, Palace Downtown, publishes a street address at all (Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashed Boulevard). The rest publish a hotel name and a district.
And the disclosure, before you notice it yourself. Oh My Desk is not in this ranking, because we do not serve brunch. We appear twice: as the point the distances are measured from — our Downtown floor is at Al Fattan Downtown, facing City Walk (that’s us) — and at the end, as a priced alternative for what a brunch is often really being used for, which is sitting a group down for three hours. Nothing here is inspected in person. It is compared, on what the operators publish.
Why has Saturday replaced Friday as Dubai’s brunch day?
Because the week moved, and the brunch followed it. The federal switch of 1 January 2022 put the weekend on Saturday and Sunday; what is new is that the search data has caught up, and the gap is not small.
| Keyword, UAE database | Searches / month | Difficulty | Intent |
|---|---|---|---|

Measured 1 November 2026, Semrush, UAE database.
Saturday now outsearches Friday by 3.3 times, and even Sunday outsearches it by 2.7. Put the three weekend-ish days together and Friday takes 14% of them. The six brunches Downtown publishes are more lopsided still: five Saturdays, one Thursday, zero Fridays.
There is a wrinkle a guide usually skips. The law never told the private sector to do any of this. The federal portal’s page on private-sector working hours sets eight hours a day or 48 a week and leaves the off-day to « the labour contract, or work regulations ». It never names a weekend. The government moved, the private sector mostly followed, and the restaurants priced the consequence. If your contract still gives you Friday off, Downtown now caters for you not at all.
The six Downtown brunches, day by day
Each entry is what its operator publishes, nothing added. « Not published » is the finding, not a gap in our reading.
1. Thiptara, Palace Downtown — Saturday, 12.30pm to 3.30pm
The earliest published start of the six, and the only one before one o’clock. The page carries « Saturday only 12.30pm – 3.30pm » beside its other hours (dinner daily 6.00pm to 11.30pm, lounge bar daily 5.00pm to midnight). It is a Thai restaurant on the ground level of Palace Downtown, on the lake side of the Boulevard. No price appears anywhere on the page: there is a dinner menu as a PDF, and nothing in the text.
2. Les Elements Brunch, Sofitel Dubai Downtown — Saturday, 1pm to 4pm
The only one of the six that publishes what it costs, which is why it ranks above two brunches with the same start time. The page reads « every Saturday », « From 1 pm to 4 pm », and gives three figures: AED 250 per person including soft drinks, AED 350 including house drinks, AED 100 for children aged 7 to 12, under-sixes complimentary. One caveat we will not hide: the same page dates the offer’s start to « September 9th, 2023 ». It is a recurring-offer page, not an archive — but Downtown’s only priced brunch is priced on a page carrying the same start date for three years. Call before you count on it.
3. Saturday Brunch at Ewaan, Palace Downtown — Saturday, 1.00pm to 4.00pm
The most completely documented venue of the six on everything except money. Its page publishes breakfast daily 6.30am to 11am, lunch 1.00pm to 3.00pm, dinner 7.00pm to 10.30pm, a Saturday Seafood Night 7.00pm to 10.30pm, and « Saturday Brunch: 1.00pm – 4.00pm ». Five published windows, no price against any of them. Same hotel as Thiptara, same ground level, same published street address.
4. Ciao Saturday at Cetara, Address Downtown — Saturday, two sittings
The only entry whose day and time exist on the hotel group’s offers page and not on the restaurant’s own page. Cetara’s page describes an Italian restaurant near Burj Khalifa with a terrace, publishes breakfast and « À la carte Daily: 1.00pm – 11.30pm », and mentions no brunch. The offers page publishes « Lunch 1.00pm to 3.00pm and Dinner 6.00pm to 11.00pm » for Ciao Saturday, with oyster shucking, a DJ and a saxophonist — and no price. Two pages on one domain, one of which knows about the brunch.
5. Skyline Brunch, CÉ LA VI — Saturday, time not published
Fifty-fourth floor of Address Sky View, and the highest brunch in this guide by a wide margin. The venue’s own site publishes its general hours — « Open from 12 PM till 3AM every day » — and lists the Skyline Brunch as « Every Sat », with no start time, no end time and no price; the menu is a linked PDF. It ranks fifth for that reason: the day is published, the window is not.
6. Thursday Night Brunch, CÉ LA VI Club Lounge — Thursday
The only entry on a working day, and the reason this guide ranks on days at all. Same building and same operator as entry five, in the club lounge rather than the restaurant, listed as « Every Thu » with no time and no price. Under the Monday-to-Thursday federal week, Thursday evening is the last working evening before the weekend — which makes this the one entry competing with your calendar rather than with the other five.
Why does only one of the six publish a price?
We do not know why, and we will not invent a reason. What can be counted is the shape: one price list across six brunches, and it sits on a page dated 2023. Four of the six publish a window to the minute and no money at all.
| Brunch | Day | Start & end | Price | Street address |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Thiptara | published | published | — | published |
| Les Cuisines | published | published | published | — |
| Ewaan | published | published | — | published |
| Cetara | published (offers page) | published (offers page) | — | — |
| CÉ LA VI, restaurant | published | — | — | — |
| CÉ LA VI, club lounge | published | — | — | — |
| Six brunches | 6 / 6 | 4 / 6 | 1 / 6 | 2 / 6 |
The consequence is not a complaint but a plan: in Downtown the day is a fact you can rely on, the price is a phone call.
What does the one published price buy?
Three hours, at Les Cuisines, on a Saturday: AED 250 a head with soft drinks, AED 350 with house drinks, AED 100 for a child of 7 to 12, nothing under 6. UAE hotel prices are normally quoted before the 5% VAT added at payment, so 250 is a floor, not a total.
At AED 250 for a three-hour window, the one published Downtown brunch works out at AED 83.33 per person per hour. That is the only figure in this guide that can be compared with anything, and we come back to it at the end.
How many of Dubai’s brunches are actually in Downtown?
Very few, and that is the finding behind the finding. We counted two third-party lists on 1 November.
| List, read 1 November 2026 | Brunches listed | In Downtown Dubai | Share |
|---|---|---|---|
| A citywide Saturday-brunch guide | 76 | 4 | 5.3% |
| A ticketing platform’s brunch page, first page | 32 | 1 | 3.1% |
On the first list, the overwhelming majority sit on the water or in the financial district: Palm Jumeirah, JBR, Bluewaters, Mina Seyahi, Madinat Jumeirah, DIFC. Downtown Dubai — the Burj Khalifa, the fountain, the mall, the most photographed square kilometre in the Gulf — contributes four names out of seventy-six, and the ticketing page one, inside The Dubai Mall.
And only one of those four survives a check against its own operator. CÉ LA VI publishes its Saturday brunch itself; for the other three, the operator’s pages either publish no such brunch or could not be found. A list is not a source, it is a lead.
Which Downtown venues are named here but not ranked?
Seven, each with its reason. None of this is a snub: four are places a citywide list says serve brunch and whose own publishing does not back it up.
| Venue | Where | Why it is not in the ranking |
|---|---|---|
| La Brasserie Sur Le Boulevard | Kempinski The Boulevard | Its own page publishes all-day dining Mon–Sun 07:00–02:00 and a Christmas Day Brunch with no date, time or price. No weekly brunch is published. |
| Felicita | Address Sky View | Named on a citywide list; no operator page found on a domain-restricted search. |
| Sobremesa | Souk Al Bahar | Same: named on a list, no operator site located. |
| Doors | The Dubai Mall | The only Downtown-area entry on the ticketing platform’s brunch page. A price is shown; no day and no time are. |
| Solara | Address Dubai Mall | Publishes breakfast, lunch and dinner by the half-hour. No brunch. |
| Armani Hotel Dubai | Burj Khalifa | Its dining page refuses automated reading. Nothing is claimed about it either way. |
| Vida Downtown | Downtown | Its brunch offer page refuses automated reading. Same. |
The two refusals matter more than they look. Both are real Downtown hotels with real food, and both are invisible to anything reading the web automatically — which in 2026 includes most of the tools people ask for a recommendation.
Why do the hotels publish nine restaurants and no opening hours?
Because the hotel page and the restaurant page are built for different jobs, and only one was ever asked to carry a time. Address Downtown’s dining page names Cetara, the Cigar Lounge, the Lobby Lounge, GAL, Urla, The Garden, The Café, KRASOTA and Birds — nine venues, zero opening hours, zero brunches. Palace Downtown names five and publishes hours for one.
| Hotel page, read 1 November 2026 | Dining venues named | With published hours | With a published brunch |
|---|---|---|---|
| Address Downtown | 9 | 0 | 0 |
| Palace Downtown | 5 | 1 | 0 |
| The same group’s offers page | — | — | Ciao Saturday, with its times |
So the Cetara brunch is published by the company that runs it — never on the page a visitor lands on searching the restaurant by name. Not a secret: a sitemap problem, and the reason citywide lists exist.
Does anyone publish a directory of Downtown’s restaurants?
No, and the contrast with the other side of the canal is sharp. In Dubai Design District the landlord publishes its tenants one by one, with an address and an opening time against each line — which is how the d3 restaurant guide could be built from a single source. In Downtown, the equivalent page names one food tenant, Time Out Market Dubai, describes it as 17 kitchens in 43,000 square feet, gives no hours, and points you to a site of its own that a domain-restricted search does not return.
The upshot for anyone planning: there is no Downtown list to read. Hotel pages, a few restaurant pages, a magazine — the whole apparatus for the district with the tallest building in the world.

What does a Saturday brunch cost next to a day at a desk?
Only one Downtown brunch publishes a price, so there is one honest comparison to make — worth making because a three-hour brunch is often being used as a venue, which is also what a meeting room is for. What renting one by the hour in Dubai costs is the other half of the sum.
| Three hours, Downtown | Published price | Per person, per hour | Per head for 3 hours |
|---|---|---|---|
| Les Elements Brunch, soft drinks | AED 250 per person | AED 83.33 | AED 250 |
| Champs-Élysées meeting room, 6 people (that’s us) | AED 120 per hour | AED 20.00 | AED 60 |
| Eiffel Tower meeting room, 15 people (that’s us) | AED 450 per hour | AED 30.00 | AED 90 |
| Day pass, hot desk (that’s us) | AED 120 per day | — | AED 120 for the day |
Oh My Desk prices exclude 5% VAT, added at payment. Meeting-room hours are also included in the monthly plans: 1 hour with a hot desk, 6 hours with a private office.
Fifteen people for three hours is AED 1,350 in the Eiffel Tower room, AED 90 a head; the same fifteen at AED 250 is AED 3,750. That is not an argument against brunch — nobody has ever ordered oysters in a meeting room. It is an argument about which of the two you are buying. If the point is the food and the Saturday, the brunch wins. If the point is three hours and a table, you are paying AED 2,400 for the atmosphere.
One more identity, exact rather than rhetorical: four Saturdays at AED 250 is AED 1,000; a month of hot desk at Oh My Desk is AED 950 (that’s us). A brunch a week costs AED 50 more than a desk for every working day of the month.
Can you do a Downtown brunch without losing a working day?
For five of the six it does not arise: Saturday is outside the federal week and outside most private contracts that follow it. The sixth, the Club Lounge on Thursday, is the one to plan around — a Thursday evening at the top of Address Sky View is an end-of-week decision, not a lunchtime one.
The useful observation is the other way round. Downtown’s weekday infrastructure — the cafés that open early enough to work from, the lunch spots, the places that take a client after six — is dense and open Monday to Friday. The brunch infrastructure is four addresses and one Saturday.
If you need somewhere to be between the two, our Downtown floor is open to members 24/7, reception staffed Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm (that’s us). A day pass is AED 120, a hot desk AED 950 a month, and the Downtown page has the photographs. Parking is its own Downtown problem, covered in the parking guide; the toll gates between you and the Boulevard are in the Salik guide.
FAQ: 10 quick answers
1. What day is brunch in Dubai now? Saturday, for almost everyone. Of the six brunches Downtown Dubai operators publish on their own pages, five run on Saturday and one on Thursday. Not one publishes a Friday brunch. Search behaviour says the same thing: in the UAE database, saturday brunch dubai is searched 2,900 times a month against 880 for friday brunch dubai, measured 1 November 2026.
2. Is Friday brunch in Dubai dead? In Downtown, on this evidence, yes. None of the six brunches we verified on 1 November 2026 runs on a Friday. Elsewhere in the city a handful of Friday-night brunches still run, but they are a small minority of any citywide list. The cause is the working week: the UAE federal sector moved to Monday–Thursday plus Friday morning on 1 January 2022, with Saturday and Sunday as the weekend.
3. How much does brunch cost in Downtown Dubai? Only one of the six publishes a figure: AED 250 per person with soft drinks and AED 350 with house drinks at Les Cuisines, Sofitel Dubai Downtown, for a 1pm to 4pm window. Children of 7 to 12 are AED 100 and under-sixes free. The other five publish no price, so the real answer for them is a phone call.
4. Which Downtown brunch starts earliest? Thiptara at Palace Downtown, at 12.30pm, the only one of the six that begins before one o’clock. It publishes the window as « Saturday only 12.30pm – 3.30pm ». The next three all start at 1pm: Les Cuisines, Ewaan and the lunch sitting of Ciao Saturday at Cetara.
5. How long does a Dubai brunch last? Three hours, on every Downtown brunch that publishes a window: 12.30–3.30 at Thiptara, 1–4 at Les Cuisines and Ewaan, and a two-hour lunch sitting plus a five-hour evening sitting at Cetara. Two of the six publish no times at all, so three hours is the pattern rather than the rule.
6. Are there many brunches in Downtown Dubai? No. On a citywide Saturday-brunch list of 76 venues read on 1 November 2026, four were in Downtown Dubai; on a ticketing platform’s brunch page of 32 events, one was. The brunch economy sits on the beach and in DIFC. Downtown has the Burj Khalifa and roughly 5% of the brunches.
7. Does Oh My Desk do brunch? No, and that is why we are not in the ranking. We are the point the distances are measured from: our Downtown floor is at Al Fattan Downtown, facing City Walk, open to members 24 hours a day with reception staffed Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm.
8. Is a brunch cheaper than hiring a meeting room for a group? No. At the one published Downtown price, AED 250 for three hours is AED 83.33 per person per hour. Our Champs-Élysées room seats six at AED 120 an hour, which is AED 60 a head for three hours, and the Eiffel Tower room seats fifteen at AED 450 an hour, which is AED 90 a head. Prices exclude 5% VAT.
9. Why do so few Downtown restaurants publish their brunch? We can only report the shape. Address Downtown’s dining page names nine venues with no opening hours and no brunch; Palace Downtown names five and publishes hours for one. The Cetara brunch exists on the group’s offers page, not on Cetara’s. Nothing is hidden — it is filed where a search by restaurant name will not find it.
10. Is there a directory of Downtown Dubai restaurants? Not a first-hand one. The landlord page for Souk Al Bahar names a single food tenant, Time Out Market Dubai, with no hours. Dubai Design District, by contrast, publishes its tenants one by one with an address and an opening time, which is why a d3 guide can be built from one source and a Downtown guide cannot.
The bottom line
Downtown Dubai publishes six brunches. Five on Saturday, one on Thursday, none on Friday, and exactly one tells you what it costs. The short version: book Saturday, expect three hours, expect to telephone for the price.
The longer version is about a district rather than a meal. Downtown is the densest weekday place in the city — offices, hotels, a mall, a metro line — and the thinnest weekend one, four brunches out of seventy-six. Our own floor sits on the other side of that split (that’s us): built for the Monday-to-Friday half, open at the weekend anyway, for the people whose week never agreed to move. If that is you, ask the team — they answer within two working hours, and they will tell you which of the six they would book.
